Don't get overheated!
We've reached the hottest part of the summer, but you've still got plenty of yard work to do. Check out our short video for tips on how to beat the heat while keeping your yard green.
Get Out Your Green Thumb: It's Summertime
The sun is shining, the grass is growing and all of the neighbors are keeping an eye on your lawn. Don't be the talk of the neighborhood for the wrong reasons! Check out these helpful tips to keep the grass greener on your side of the fence.
Trim Away
Trimming keeps all of your edges and pathways neat and tidy. Trim before you mow for less cleanup, letting the mower chop up your trimmings to reduce the need for raking.
Mow Every Week
Tackle the Weeds
Prevention is the key. Mowing high and watering well goes a long way to keep the weeds at bay. If you need a little extra help, apply a weed killer product with a sprayer. Use a small pressure sprayer for spot treating or a 1 to 2-gallon tank sprayer for weed patches.
Don't Park on the Grass
Parking on the grass compacts the soil and creates ruts, leaving bald patches where the grass is unable to grow back. If this is a problem you already have, use a tiller to loosen the soil, scatter your grass seed and fertilize.
Clean Up After Fido
Encourage your dog to use the bathroom in a specific area to prevent damage to the whole lawn. If he's not getting the hint, make sure to hose down his favorite potty areas to prevent urine spots on the grass.
Put Away Your Outdoor Toys and Tools
Keep all of your outdoor items contained in a shed or deck box to avoid cluttering up your beautiful oasis.
